Addu City Council announced the final list of individuals who are set to receive apartments from the housing units established in the atoll on Tuesday.
264 flats were constructed in Hithadhoo while 48 in Hulhumeedhoo, under that state’s housing plan.
265 individuals will receive the flats in accordance with the final list among 414 applicants who were initially shortlisted for fulfilling the requirements to apply for the housing scheme.
The final list contains 179 names for the 150 flats allocated for residents of Hithadhoo, 32 names for the 30 flats allocated for residents of Maradhoo and Maradhoo-Feydhoo, in addition to 54 names for the 50 flats allocated for residents of Feydhoo.
A total of 20 names were chosen out of the applicants for the 32 housing units allocated for locals of Feydhoo. The list contains 18 names for the 23 flats issued for residents of Hulhudhoo and Meedhoo, while only two names made the final list for the flats allotted for migrant locals to Hulhudhoo and Meedhoo.
Before the agreements are signed between the state and the shortlisted applicants, the current residences and properties will be inspected to see if they satisfy the requirements of the information document regarding the housing scheme, stated the city council.
Moreover, the council stated that if a married couple received two flats, the apartment will be awarded according to the requirements of the particular housing scheme category.
The down payment for the flats sublet in Addu city is MVR 2,500, with a monthly rent of MVR 3,000.
