Guest Houses in residential islands have been permitted to resume operations and reopen for tourists starting from October 15th.
The announcement made was made public via tweet by the Tourism Ministry of the Maldives, permitting guesthouses to recommence their operations.
The Ministry is set to hold a press conference in the coming days to provide more details regarding this decision.
The country only recently opened it’s borders for tourists and international travel after an almost three month long lock down imposed by the government in an effort to curb the spread of COVID-19.
