As the President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s manifesto included introduction of new tourism products, tourism ministry is currently working on the project.
Minister Ali Waheed, during a press conference held last Thursday, said that establishing a “Divers tourism section” and specialised for guesthouse businesses, “Island tourism section” is ongoing.
Tourism ministry is also working on introducing sport tourism by facilitating to bring one foreign club per year.
Until the project of “Divers tourism section” promotions and advertisements were mainly about the beaches and underwater under the themes of “sun”, “sand” and “sea”.
