The success of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih in the recent presidential election was not due to the support of the former President Mohamed Nasheed (Anni), says the former leader of MDP, Dr. Ibrahim Didi (Dr. Didi).
While giving an interview to Sangu TV, he elaborated that the reasons President Solih won the election are many, and none of them is because he had the backing of President Nasheed. He highlighted how President Solih is a capable political leader in his own regard, who has managed to work alongside opposition members for the betterment of the country. He credits the experience gained from the active role President Solih played in the parliament for 25 years, during which he was the opposition PG leader as one of the reasons why he won the election.
President Ibrahim Solih was one of the leading voices of the opposition, who stood fast voicing opinions about the injustices in the former President Yamin’s regime.
