Treetop Hospital first laparoscopic hysterectomy was completed successfully.
A laparoscopic hysterectomy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure to remove the uterus by inserting a small incision in the belly button where a tiny camera is inserted and used to performs the operative procedure.
Located in Hulhumale, Treetop Hospital was opened in 2018 and was the first time such a surgery was carried out by the hospital. The surgery was executed by obstetrics and gynaecology specialist, Dr Varsha Rengaraj with the assistance of a nurse and an anesthesiologist.
According to the Hospital, they provide high-quality obstetrics and gynaecology facilities for women of all ages.
