Raffles Opens 21-Villa Luxury Resort in Maldives

Accor expands its portfolio as Raffles announces the opening of a 21-villa island resort in Gaafu Alifu Atoll.

Located at the southern end of the Maldives archipelago, near the equator, Raffles Maldives Meradhoo is accessible by 55 minutes of domestic flight from Velana International Airport followed by a 15-minute speedboat ride from Kaadehdhoo Airport.

The resort is home to Raffles Royal Villa, 16 over-water villas and 21 beachfront villas. The main island is home to Beach Villas and Beach Residences, featuring private pools, large living rooms and a sumptuous marble bathroom with a sunken bathtub and outdoor shower and can be reached by a traditional Maldivian Dhoani.

Guests can savor top quality cuisines at Thari’s all-day diner, Yuzu, Peruvian and Japanese fusion restaurant, and The Firepit, where a variety of flame-grilled chef specialty dishes are served.

The renowned Raffles Spa is set over the water and offers a private escape with luxurious facials, body treatment and manicures.

“Boasting 1,200 islands, Maldives is home to the best beaches in the world and now, with the opening of Raffles Maldives Meradhoo, is also home to the best of luxury hospitality.”, said Patrick Basset, Accor’s Chief Operating Officer for upper Southeast and Northeast Asia and the Maldives.

As Accor’s fourth property in the Maldives and first under the Raffles brand, The Raffles Royal Residence and secluded collection of overwater villas and residences is set to open in the final quarter of 2019.
