The government has earned MVR 382.2 million as Airport Development Fee (ADF) up to the month of June this year according to the statistics publicized by Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA).
While the collection the ADF began on May 2017 to increase government revenue and as an assist to pay back the loans taken to develop Velana International Airport, they earned MVR 49.7 million in June 2019 alone, which is a 3% increase compared to June 2018.
The ADF for Maldivians is USD 12, and USD 25 for foreigners however, people with diplomatic benefits are exempt from paying this fee.
