Home construction loans with low-interest rates to be announced soon.
While answering inquiries from the Parliament, Minister of Housing and Urban Development Aminath Athifa Shakoor stated that it is one of the key pledges of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih to ease the housing issues faced by the citizens by offering interest rates as low as 5-6% for home construction loans.
She further explained that the government has been working in this initiative for the past six months, and is currently discussing with Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) and other financial institutions to generate a draft to achieve the pledge.
The work is expected to conclude by end of August.
