A man was fined MVR 21,600 for possession of alcohol by the Criminal Court.
Police arrested two men, Ismail Nihan and Ali Mauloon, in the capital city of Male approximated around 2120 hours on August 15, 2018, on suspicious behavior, according to the judgment hearing on October 21, 2018.
Based on their confessions, the two men were convicted. However, due to Mauloon’s rehabilitation at the National Drug Authority (NDA), the court did not impose the sentence on Mauloon as requested by the Prosecutor General’s Office.
In fact, Nihan was ordered to pay the sum within a month.
