COMO Cocoa Island to reopen in January post renovation

The COMO Hotels and Resorts’ Cocoa Island is set to reopen in January 2020 following renovation.

According to the resort’s management, the luxury slip is set to open on 09 January the following year.

During the renovation period, major changes took over the slip with all of their 34 overwater villas getting a redesign.

Moreover, the villas got a more contemporary touch, incorporating naturally sourced materials; such as kajan thatch roofing.

In addition, the new designs of villas mean newly fitted verandas leading for direct lagoon access.

Another prime focus was the spa; which went through a major overhaul in its ‘looks and feels’ department.

As such, the COMO Shambhala Retreat now comprises a full third of the luxury resort.

Meanwhile, two of the four treatment rooms got expansions as ‘couples’ suites’.

In addition to this, a Pilates studio stands erect next to the yoga studio while a new hydrotherapy pool is installed.

The COMO Cocoa Island, developed on the island of Makufufushi, South Male’ atoll, first opened in 2002.

Interestingly, for Singapore’s COMO Group this is the first private island property in Maldives.

The luxury private island lies at a 40-minute speedboat distance from Velana International Airport.
