President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih discussed with stakeholders on maintaining the precautionary measures and further reinforcing those safeguards against the rapidly spreading Covid-19 ( Mostly known as Corona Virus ) disease worldwide.
The meeting took place on Sunday at the President’s Office.
President asked about the new measures being taken by the authorities and institutions to protect the country and its people from the epidemic. He also asked officials about their capacity to take further action in case of a potential outbreak in the Maldives.
Following the international outbreak of the deadly Covid-19 virus , President Solih established a special task force to implement precautionary measures and organize timely interventions, comprising government officials and experts.
Ministers and heads of agencies as well as leading experts attended the meeting and the president urged to remain steady and vigilant in protecting the Maldivian people and stressed that the security and well-being of Maldivian citizens remained the highest priority of the government.
