The Indian government has donated a Dornier aircraft to the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF).
The plane which is to be operated by the MNDF will be utilized for Search and Rescue missions, Maritime/EEZ surveillance and Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief operations.
The aircraft is part of an intergovernmental agreement between the countries, with the Indian government to bear the cost of operating the aircraft.
