The annual Ooredoo ‘Mas Race’ held every Ramadan has aired their 10th Season yesterday.
The highly competitive show has earned a special place in the heart of every Maldivian and for the past 10 years, every Ramadan the show has managed to bring joy and happiness to every Maldivian household says Ooredoo Director of Sales and Brand, Hussain Niyaz. He continues saying that Ooredoo is proud that the show has played a key role in rekindling the interest in fishing among the youth of the country and reliving old age traditions in the process.
He also announced the introduction of new segments to the program in celebration of its 10th year anniversary. Among these is a special segment dedicated for women in hope to provide a platform to empower them. The winner of this segment will be given a chance to compete with the rest of the winners in the grand finale.
Like previous years, Ooredoo and the show’s partners will be giving MVR 50,000 cash to the winner. In addition to this MVR 5000 along with the “Rankoari” award will be given to the person who catches the most fish, and MVR 5000 for the person who catches the heaviest fish and for the best female “Keyolhu” as well.
The program is scheduled to air every Saturday of Ramadan, besides for the last 10 days of the holy month. The grand finale will be held on Eid.
A total of 16 teams have participated this year in the Ooredoo “Mas Race”.
