President Ibrahim Solih is to attend the annual summit conference of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) as a keynote speaker.
OIC is an international organization consisting of 57 member states who are Muslim majority countries.
The summit is to take place in Makkah Al-Mukarramah on Friday, and will address “current issues in the Muslim world” and “recent developments in a number of OIC member states”, the official agenda states. In addition to this cultural, economic, scientific, social and other matters of concern to the OIC Member States will be discussed.
According to the Spokesperson of the President’s Office, Ibrahim Hood, the president will leave for the summit in Wednesday and will be staying in Saudi Arabia for a week. During his visit, he will be taking part in many discussions with the leaders of the Saudi government and will also perform a small Umrah.
Foreign Minister, Abdullah Shahid is also taking part in the summit.
