The Government signed an MOU with the Saudi Fund for Development on Monday regarding their participation with the Maldives’ Financing of Affordable Housing Scheme Project and the Development of Fisheries Sector Project.
The MOU was signed by the Minister of the Interior of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prince Abdul-Aziz bin Saud bin Nauf. The MOU was co-signed by the Maldivian Minister of Finance and Treasury, Ahmed Munawwar, as well as the chairman of the Saudi Fund’s Board of Directors, Ahmed bin Ageel al Khateeb.
President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Gayyoom had a private meeting with the Prince prior to the ceremony.
Upon his arrival to Male City on Monday afternoon, the Prince was received by the Minister of Home Affairs Azleen Ahmed and the Minister of Defence and National Security Ahmed Shareef. The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) had also presented an honour guard at Republic Square to receive the Prince.
The Prince was accompanied by a delegation of 150 officials, and concluded his visit to the Maldives late Monday.
