Dhirragu, the largest telecommunication company in the Maldives has signed with Centre for Quran Studies to come up with a solution to help students in Fuvahmulah and Laamu Fonudhoo to take part in their courses without having to leave their homes.
Through this service, lecturers are able to communicate with their students remotely and give lessons through video conference, allowing them to take part in the many courses that are provided by the centre.
According to the Centre of Quran Studies, by providing students such opportunities, it encourages them to finish their degrees which in the long-term will have a positive impact on the country’s economy.
So far 65 students have registered in Quran Teaching Course, 65 in Imaam Degree program and an additional 26 students in other courses, making a total of 91 students set to study in the centre.
