A disciplinary complaint against the Supreme Court judge Abdullah Didi has been filed by parliament member and former President of the Maldives, Mohamed Nasheed.
The complaint letter was filed requesting the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) to closely monitor and set an agenda apropos of a judge in court for his misconduct. Speaking at a news conference today, Secretary General, Fathimath Niusha also mentioned that Mr Nasheed further requested to broadcast the incomplete court cases and their progress to the public through media.
The constitution defines that the JSC is obligated to incorporate the appointed president of the parliament as a member of the judiciary committee. Nasheed was appointed as a member of the JSC by the president of the Maldives Mr Ibrahim Solih following Nasheed’s win as the president of the parliament in the election held Tuesday.
