Prime Minister Modi’s address to the Maldivian Parliament will be held after Maqrib Prayers.
On his official two day visit to he Maldives, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the Parliament of the Maldives after Maqrib Prayers at 6:45pm.
In a press briefing released by the parliament, it was stated that this change was made as per the request of the Prime Minister as his addressing was scheduled close to the time if evening prayers and he had wanted the Parliament members to be able to complete the evening prayers before his address.
The invitation was extended to the Indian Prime Minister after voting on the 29th at the parliament. Such invitations to foreign leaders to speak at a parliament is the highest honour a country can give.
This is his first official trip after he was re-elected for a second term with a landslide win at the polls.
