Intercontinental Hotel announced their new resort; the InterContinental Maldives Maamunagau is slated to open on the 1st of September this year.
The resort has 81 luxury beach, lagoon and overwater villas with private terraces and pools that provide beautiful and scenic panoramas of the Maldives and the Indian ocean.
The resort is a 35-minute seaplane transfer from the Male International Airport and is situated in the largest natural lagoon in the country. It is located near the Maldives’ only UNESCO World Biosphere home to the Hanifary Bay where guests can get an up close and personal experience with the wildlife; the magnificent Manta Ray’s and whale sharks, that frequent the waters to feed.
With nature and conservation at its core, the resort has partnered with Manta Trust to support the conservation project – Maldivian Manta Ray Project.
