Maldives and Finland have begun talks about cooperative technology development according to Finland’s Ambassador for South Asia, Mr Harri Kämäräinen.
In the introductory ceremony and banquet held at Kurumba Maldives, hosted by the Maldivian Consul for the Nordic Region, Mr Kämäräinen stated that he is pleased to announce the growing relationship between the two countries and how some of the core aspects of Finland’s world-renowned education system is being implemented in the Maldives.
He also stated that the Maldives is a country of geographic significance and development plans and projects are carried out very differently in the country. He further reiterated the importance of using modern state of the art technology in development projects in all sectors and stated that he’s eager to start discussions at the earliest possible.
With the interest of investing in technology, the government for the first time ever has also created a dedicated ministry for technological development known as the Ministry of Communication, Science and Technology and have started different technological projects under the ministry’s banner throughout the country.
