Gulf Air, Bahrain’s national carrier has announced the launch of five weekly nonstop flights to Male’ and are to start their operations on 26th of October.
It will be Gulf Air’s third A320neo Airbus that is setting its course to the Maldives later this year. This delivery is reportedly a part of a major fleet development project which aims to receive a total of 12 A320neo Airbus as mentioned in the statement from Gulf.
The eco-friendly A320neo Airbus with 5000 times fewer CO2 emissions per year per aircraft, is also said to be the most advanced and fuel-efficient version of the single-aisle A320 aircraft in its family. Equipped with LEAD-1A engines, this new aircraft also features the widest single cabin in the market. “We are proud of this fantastic milestone as we continue with our brand promise in expanding our fleet along with our network.” said the CEO Keršimir Kučko.
The direct five times a week aeroplane flights from Bahrain international airport will start at 11:20 pm and land at 6:25 AM. The onward journey will then be to Colombo with departure at 7:25 AM and arrival at 9:25 AM. The flight will next direct its course to the Maldives from Colombo. It will take off at 4:55 PM and lands at the Velana International Airport at 5:55 PM. It then departs to Bahrain at 6:55 AM and arriving at 10:05 AM.
