At the talks in Moscow the Russian Defense Minister General of the Army, Sergei Shoigu and Mariya Ahmed Didi, the head of the Maldives military department discussed priorities of bilateral cooperation.
As the parties shared their views on the bilateral military and technical cooperation, they discussed the practical steps of consistent development while also noting the prospects of the Russian-Maldivian cooperation.
“I propose to discuss the prospects of bilateral military cooperation and to determine the priority directions of its development.” said the Russian Defence Minister General of the Army, Sergei Shoigu.
Mariya’s Moscow visit aims to intensify the political dialogue between Maldives and Russia.
Invitation to attend in the ARMY 2019 International Military and technical forum from June 25-30 and the international Army games 2019 held from 3-17 August were conveyed to Maldivian specialists by Sergei Shoigu. “In April next year, we will be glad to see you among the delegates of the 9th Moscow Conference on International Security”, said Shoigu.
“For a long time such relations have been developed between both countries, in particular, Russian equipment was delivered to our country”. Mariya Ahmed Didi said in return. She stated that long-term friendly relations have always existed between the two countries.
In meeting with the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Nikolai Patrushev, Mariya Ahmed Didi discussed issues of bilateral cooperation. She also conveyed words of gratitude to Sergei Shoigu from President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
