Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov and the Maldivian Foreign Minister, Abdullah Shahid to sign an agreement to mutually eliminate visa requirements.
Minister Shahid, departed to Moscow today on his first official trip to Russia to sign the agreement on behalf of the Maldivian government with the Russian Foreign Minister where he was accompanied by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ahmed Khaleel, Ambassador of Maldives to Germany Ahmed Latheef, Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Shiuneen Rasheed and Desk Officer Mariyam Asif.
“As part of the visit, it is planned to sign an agreement between the government of the Russian Federation and the government of the Republic of Maldives to mutually eliminate visa requirements for Russian and Maldivian citizens,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
In addition to this, discussion regarding strengthening the bilateral cooperation between the two countries will be carried out.
