President Ibrahim Solih and the First Lady, Fazna Ahmed visits Singapore on a state visit.
During their visit, they will attend a special meeting held by the Singapore Government where other high ranking officers and ministers will be in attendance. The meeting is held to figure out opportunities for both nations to improve their defence, finance, health and education sectors and develop a strong bond between the two nations.
Individual meetings with President Halimah Yacob and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has been arranged as well.
According to the President’s Office, Maldivian residents in Singapore will have the opportunity to meet President Solih to discuss the difficulties they face, to help come up with solutions.
In addition to this, visits to ISD Counter-Terrorism Centre and Palau Semakau Landfill by The National Environment Agency has been arranged as well.
This is President Solih’s first formal state visit to Singapore.
