The new Maldivian Ambassador to the United States has met with President Donald Trump and submitted her credentials at a function held at the White House on Monday.
Following the ceremony held at the White House, the newly appointed ambassador, Thilmeeza posted on social media, thanking the United States for the close relationship maintained with Maldives and efforts to strengthen the country’s democracy.
She was appointed to her ambassadorial post earlier in April. Prior to this, she served as the Deputy Permanent Representative at the Permanent Mission of Maldives to the UN and also held the post of Non-Resident Deputy Ambassador to the USA and Canada.
