Ministry of Education in partnership with TVET Authority launches nationwide apprenticeship program.
The ceremony carried out at Customs Building was inaugurated by Minister of Technology, Maleeh Jameel. During his speech, he mentioned the increase in unemployment in the nation due to lack of job opportunities amongst the youth, however, that people can now and should give back to society by other forms of work such as freelancing.
Furthermore he explained the importance of being up to date with modern technology as it can help improve primary sectors such as the fishing sector to achieve economic growth. Hence a larger portion of the program will be focusing on IT and other aspects of that area.
