According to the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), advertising and marketing of the Maldives’ tourism industry will be done on 21 international events during the next 6 months.
The marketing events include travel fairs and roadshow overseas with plans to host roadshows in South Korea, Switzerland, France and Germany along with a special focus on ASEAN countries like Thailand. There are more plans to hold similar events in the United States, Russia, Japan, China and the United Kingdom as well.
MMPRC has taken part in over 20 events during the first half of the year with plans to Cary the same momentum throughout the year with the World Travel Market- WTM being the next big event MMPRC is preparing to take part in.
Over MVR 40 million has been spent on these marketing events up until now. The government has allocated a budget of MVR 157 million for marketing if Maldives’ tourism industry across the globe.
