The National Awards Committee announced that nominations are open for the ‘President’s National Award for Special Achievement’ via Maldives Government Gazette.
To nominate a candidate, individuals can submit applications latest by 15th September.
This year there will be 3 categories of awards.
In the first category, the award will be given to those individuals who have completed education certificates equivalent to MQA ranking levels of 7, 8, 9 and 10 with a grade point average of 85% or higher, or completed a research topic or dissertation with exceptional distinction. Compared to last year, the committee will defer to the grading categories defined by the relevant institutions from which the individuals received their certificates.
While the second categories are for those have performed exceptionally well in an international competition or exhibition, the third category is for those individuals who have created effective solutions to pressing national issues through their innovation and research.
National Award Council has scheduled information sessions and those who would like to participate in the session can contact the President’s Office.
