A total of seven agreements were signed by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih during his state visit to the island nation.
The agreements include General Cooperation Agreement between Maldives and Seychelles, MoU on Cooperation between Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Maldives and Seychelles, MoU on Tourism Development with MoU on Cooperation in the Blue Economy Sector, MoU on Cooperation in Climate Change, MoU on Sports Cooperation and lastly MoU for Vocational Training and Youth Development Cooperation.
“The seven agreements and Memorandums of Understanding signed during this visit signals the willingness on our parts to exchange knowledge, increase cooperation, and move towards shared mutual progress,” said Solih at the signing ceremony.
He further said “We are small island nations, with big dreams, and great determination. I believe it is our duty, as Leaders of our respective Governments, to navigate the shared tides and turbulence, to lead our people to the peaceful and prosperous destination that they desire,”
The president was accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Abdulla Shahid to the ceremony.
