Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) distributes MVR 7,879.79 per employee as 2018 annual bonus.
According to the company their annual bonus was deposited before Eid al-Adha holidays and was distributed equally among all its employees.
While the bonus for those employees who left the company in 2018 was calculated after a minimum of six months of service based on their tenure, none of the employees who were dismissed under the company’s disciplinary policy was eligible for the bonus.
According to the revised regulations from Finance Ministry, State-owned companies are not allowed to distribute annual bonus to the employee unless such decision is passed at their annual general meeting and only after paying dividends to the state. It also states that the bonus must not exceed 3% of the dividend declared.
MACL made a profit of MVR 572 million in Q1 of 2019 making them the highest profit earning state-company so far this year.
