An agreement regarding air transport has been signed between Maldives and Bahrain.
The signing took place at the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) 40th general meeting in Montreal, Canada, where Transport Minister of Maldives Aishath Nahula and her counterpart from Bahrain, Kamal Bin Ahmed Mohamed.
The agreement was signed under an MoU signed between the two countries in 1995. The flights will commence next month by the national airline of Bahrain, Gulf Air and will conduct six flights on the Bahrain-Male’-Colombo-Male’-Bahrain route from October 28.
As of now, there are 29 airlines from 21 countries operating in the country.
