The representative of the president of Palestine, Mahmood Abbas, handed over an invitation letter to the president of the Maldives, Ibrahim Solih, from Mahmood Abbas to visit Palestine.
This event took place after the president’s speech at the United Nations (UN), claiming the independence of Palestine. He also spoke against Israel for their vicious actions on the citizens of Palestine.
According to the president’s office, the representative of Mahmood is the highest-ranked jury and the presidential advisor for religious affairs and Islamic relations, Mahmoud al Habash
Habash expressed gratitude for the president for speaking in defense of Palestine while inviting him to visit Gudhus, Palestine, in the special meeting.
President Solih assured Habash full support in defending Palestine and stated that the solution for the issues aroused between Israel and Palestine is to disclose Gudhus as the capital city of Palestine.
Former president Dr.mohamed Waheed Hasan Manik was the only president who has visited Palestine so far. This event took place on June 2013.
