Vice President Naseem meets the UAE Ambassador

Dr Saeed Mohamed Ali Al Shamsi, United Arab Emirates (UAE) ambassador to the Maldives, met with Vice President Faisal Naseem on Monday.

The ambassador spoke about the efforts to implement work at the newly established UAE Embassy in the Maldives during the meeting held at the President’s Office.

Ambassador Al Shamsi acknowledged that many Maldivians from different sectors such as shipping and tourism are seeking employment in the UAE. He added that it would further improve economic ties by enhancing cooperation between the two countries.

In addition, he said the UAE is always ready to assist the Maldives in their development endeavors.

Vice President Naseem congratulated Ambassador Al Shamsi for his appointment as the UAE’s first resident ambassador to the Maldives.

He revealed that the government is working on a number of mega-development projects, adding that they are particularly interested in developing the education and health sector.

VP Naseem also thanked the ambassador for the continuing assistance from the UAE to the Maldives.

Ambassador Al Shamsi, in effect, shared his excitement regarding collaborating with the Maldivian government to further deepen bilateral relations between the UAE and the Maldives.
