A man was arrested in HDh. Kulhudhufushi for setting fire to vehicles.
The police perceived the fire that occurred on October 22 near a home named Kakaage to be an act of arson.
Police had previously stated that near Kakaage, a parked motorcycle caught fire and spread to the house’s outer foyer ceiling. A small pick-up truck in the area was also charred.
MNDF Fire and Rescue Services quickly put out the fire.
The police determined that the fire was an act of arson while investigating the scene and based on evidence they found.
On Thursday, police said a 30-year-old man was arrested in connection with the case on Monday. Kulhudhuffushi Magistrate Court has extended the remand of the man to seven days, police said.
