The tax revenue collection to Maldives state as of 30 October 2019 has reached to MVR14,033.2 million (MVR14.0 billion).
The recent statistics from Maldives Ministry of Finance, revealed under the Weekly Fiscal Development showed tax revenue collection over MVR14 billion.
Meanwhile the non-tax revenue collection in annual terms has reached MVR4,412.0 million (MVR4.4 billion).
Goods and Services Tax (GST) which combines both TGST and GGST has reached a cumulative total of MVR6,420.3 million.
Tourism Goods and Services Tax (TGST) remains as the strongest revenue generator to Maldives government, with a cumulative total of MVR4,040.7 million in annual terms.
On the other hand, Import Duty continues as the second strongest income churner in annual terms with a cumulative total of MVR2,738.7 million.
General Goods and Services Tax (GGST) collection has reached MVR2,379.6 million, making it the third strongest.
Furthermore, Business and Property Tax has reached a cumulative total of MVR3,362.0 million, which combines Business Profit Tax, Withholding Tax and other business and property related taxes.
Business Profit Tax (BPT) has reached MVR2,152.4 million as of review week. While Withholding Tax has hit MVR570.5 million.
As of 30 October, Green Tax has reached a cumulative total of MVR706.5 million while Airport Service Charge has hit MVR602.9 million.
The strongest income generator from non-tax sources is the rent collected from resorts.
As per the review week, the cumulative total of rent from resorts collected has reached MVR1,288.0 million.
Meanwhile the dividends collected from State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) has reached MVR749.7 million.
