Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) commences work on developing harbor at Baa atoll Fulhadhoo.
The project was contracted to MTCC by Maldives Ministry of National Planning and Infrastructure.
Valued at MVR48 million for project cost, the agreement for the work was signed earlier on July 2019.
The harbor development project involves protection of the shore, installation of revetment as well as mooring blocks.
The contractor will also be laying pavement which stretches inland from the harbor site.
As per the project requirements, MTCC will be reclaiming 54,861 cubic meters of land. An outer barrier of 108 meters will be installed while a revetment of 302 meters will be installed.
Apart from this, MTCC will also be installing an inner barrier spanning 223 meters in length.
Ministry of National Planning and Infrastructure contracted MTCC to complete the project under 390 days.
