The Standard Hotels opens Carpe Diem under new name

The US based hotelier group Standard Hotels reopens Carpe Diem Beach Resort and Spa under new name.

Renamed, ‘The Standard Huruvalhi Maldives’ is the hotelier group’s first Asian property.

Developed in the island of Raa atoll Huruvalhi the 115 villa resort was initially managed by local venture Carpe Diem Maldives.

Following major renovations the new Standard Hotels property reopened on 01 November.

The renovation meant improvement to the resort’s design and feel, employing traits common to Standard Hotels properties around the world.

The Standard Huruvalhi Maldives will now hold a glass bottom night club while disco balls are fitted across all the lavatories – a personal ‘Standard Hotels’ touch.

The hotelier group manages several properties across the world include hotels in Los Angeles, New York and Miami Beach with recent United Kingdom addition.

Standard Hotels will be opening properties in several European cities including Milan, Paris and Lisbon in future.

In addition to this, the hotelier group plans on developing new properties at other Asian destinations including Indonesia, Vietnam and Thailand.
