The premier weather analysis office of Maldives posts early warning of worsening weather in the island nation for upcoming days.
According to Maldives Meteorological Center, the weather is expected to worsen ahead.
Moreover, an official of the office clarified major parts of the country will experience heavy rain.
Although the weather office notifies clear skies for 20 December, Friday weather will worsen the day after.
Furthermore, yellow alerts have been issued between the atolls Raa and Vaavu.
According to reports, these areas will experience heavy rain within the coming hours.
Moreover, the said areas will likely experience thunder and lightning on top of rain.
In addition to this, Meteorological Center reports the wind speed will pick up 45 miles per hour the said areas.
As such, the weather office has warned sea vessels traveling the area to take precaution.
Furthermore, reports confirm Maldives will experience rain with thunder within the next 24 hour throughout the country.
Meanwhile, Maldives capital experienced flooding over previous night’s rain.
However, authorities confirm no damages were reported from any person or property.
On the other hand, strong gusts at Lhaviyani atoll Naifaru resulted in the roof dismantling on the island council’s premises.
In the meantime, Maldives Police has requested locals to be careful in their day to day life over the worsening weather.
Moreover, Maldives National Defense Force is currently pumping water out from Male’ City.
Although weather has worsened in recent days, Disaster Management Authority claims no serious incidents were reported.
According to the authority’s Project Director Hisan Hassan, no islands have reported of disturbances to livelihood over weather related incidents.
