The biggest revenue company owned by the government, Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) just finished one year without a Managing Director.
As per the president’s office, there has been a delay in appointing a Managing Director to MACL as there are structural reconfigurations within the company and will be solved within 5 months’ time. This was stated earlier this year and still, there has not been any work done for the reconfigurations.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s vision is to divide the managing powers of the company as he believes that the company is too big to be handled by one person.
The previous MD who managed the company was Mr. Adil Moosa who retired in November 2018 after working in MACL for 26 long years. After his retirement, Deputy Chief Information Mr. Moosa Solih has taken the responsibility of managing the company un-officially.
