Permission has been given to form the political party named National Reform Party (NRP), confirmed Elections Commission (EC) on Sunday.
Sheikh Mohamed Didi, the founder of NRP is a former council member from Adhaalath Party (AP). He had also joined former sovereign party Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM).
Previously last week election common had given permission to two new political parties one of which was former president Yameen’s “People’s National Congress” (PNC) and the other one was former vice president Adheeb’s “Maldives Third-Way Democratic” (MTD)
MTD now has over 3000 people and has conducted a meeting. Rumours have been spread of PNC having 3000 members right after having the authorization to make the political party.
