To protect Maldives from the rising pandemic of COVID-19, Male’ city council and MNDF took action to disinfect the Male streets with chlorin starting this morning.
They first started near IGMH, the KabaaAisaarani higun. To clean the streets of Male’ city, the city council has decided to take out the street plates that are damaged and dirty.
It has been decided that the disinfecting will be carried out in surburn Hulhemale’ as well. Although as of yet, there has been no news has been reported regarding the work in Hulhimale’ that has been assigned to Housing Development Corporation (HDC).
Additionally, as of this Sunday night, Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has broadened its disinfection work from only termianals, rest rooms and passenger waiting areas to streets and open spaces of the Velana Internation Airport.
13 people, working or on a vacation in either resorts and safaris have been tested positive for COVID-19 in Maldives. 5 of the 13 people, were from Kuredu Island Resort and 2 were from Anantara Dhigu, while the other 2 appeared to be from Sandies Bathala. The other 2 of 13, were seen in Kuramathi Island Resort.
Fortunately, three have been declared to have recovered, though for extra precaution will be closely put on surveillance at the isolation facilities.
COVID-19 has been declared an imminent health threat by the health officials after it was seen in Maldives, despite the effective measures taken to contain it so far and has behest the public to practice reclusive lifestyle and to remain on guard.
