Maldivian digital artist have lodged a copyright infringement case against Hollywood singer Aron Carter in a United States court for allegedly stealing and reselling a drawing made by the artist.
The case was filed on the 5th of May by a US law firm Liebowitz Law Firm, PLLC in collaboration with Maldivian councils of Shimhaq, Uz. Hamza Kahleel and Uza. Aishath Shaifa Shahid.
The events transpired last year when a digital drawing of a lion of Shimhaq was used by the singer to promote his clothing line without prior permission by Shimhaq. Shimhaq came to a realization of someone stealing his work was when a twitter follower brought it to his attention that it was stolen. Shimhaq then scrutinized and confirmed that it was stolen in a tweet.
Brother of Nick Carter from the famous American band, “Backstreet Boys”, Aron is widely known for his songs back in the 1990s. He has previously stated that he would sue everyone who bullied him regarding this even and would also create a masterpiece of his own.
