Ooredoo Maldives has donated a sum of MVR 2.5 million to the Maldivian government for the efforts against COVID-19.
CEO and Managing Director of Ooredoo Maldives Mr. Najib Khan in an audio conference call with the President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih stated that the contribution is toward efforts to obtain PPE, ventilators, and testing kits. He also highlighted that the company’s stance towards the betterment of the people and that the company is always with the people of Maldives at times of difficulty.
Mr. Khan also expressed gratitude to the Ooredoo Group’s Board of Directors, Ooredoo Maldives Board of Directors, CEO of Ooredoo Group Sheikh Saud Bin Nasser Al Thani, and the Chairman of Ooredoo Group Sheikh Faisal Bin Thani Al Thani.
One of the largest of the two telecom providers in the country, Ooredoo Maldives also assured that the company would continue to assist National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC), Health Protection Agency (HPA), and other government institutions in its fight to curb the spread of the novel corona virus.
