50 and 23 Maldivians from Belarus and UK is to be repatriated back to the country, reveals Foreign Ministry.
The Ministry stated that the evacuees will be travelling back home in a Sri Lankan flight from London, with the students from Belarus traveling prior to the city from Minsk. Tickets for the flight are to be purchased privately for any who want to come back in the flight.
The worldwide pandemic has caused many governments to impose local and international travel restrictions to curb the spread of the virus. The Maldivian government has conducted various operations in collaboration with foreign governments to bring stranded individuals in these countries.
Repatriation flights have been arranged to India, Malaysia and Thailand by the Maldivian government.
