Housing Development Corporation (HDC) have further extended the deadline extension to include June and July.
For those who have not already submitted applications for rent relief amid the Covid-19 outbreak, the deadline extension of 30% deferment of rent payments would include rented properties such as apartments, housing units, commercial lands, and industrial premises.
The government owned corporation responsible for undertaking the development and management of Hulhumalé announced a 30 percent relief decrease of the rent and to defer rent payments earlier last month.
The company further highlighted that the monthly payment of 70% of the rent should be paid at least by August 15th. With the repayment to commence in November, the rest has to be paid within 12 months. The company also assured that upon request further assistance and additional leeway would be provided for those facing financial difficulties.
