The government of Australia has donated 12,000 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the Maldives.
In a ceremony the donation was handed over to the Maldives by Australian High Commissioner to Maldives David Holly and Australian Defense Advisor Group Captain Sean Unwin and received by Maldivian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Omar Abdul Razzaq and Defense Advisor to the High Commission of Maldives in Sri Lanka Lieutenant Colonel Ismail Naseer.
The donation is for the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) to ensure protection of front line workers fighting the pandemic from the military.
The donations are worth USD 120,000 and consists of 12,000 coveralls and 200,000 gloves.
