The government has begun disbursing frontline allowance to workers who are working in the front lines to stop the spread of the novel corona virus in the Maldives.
Finance Ministry disclosed that a total of MVR 2.9 million has been disbursed to 220 individuals thus far. The Ministry also assured that more payments would be disbursed in the coming days as the data verification process is complete.
Finance Minister Ibrahim Ameer announced a daily allowance of MVR 500 to MVR 200 to frontline workers in early May.
