Another 40 people have flown to India this Thursday under a the special permit granted by the Indian government to the Maldives to facilitate medical treatment during the pandemic.
This is the 5th batch of patients to travel to the neighboring country. The state insurance provider and sponsor, Aasandha revealed that 18 patients, 18 caretakers and four medical escorts were among those who flew out to Cochin this Thursday.
Aasandha also clarified that the 40 people has tested negative for COVID-19 in accordance to the public health guidelines of India and would undergo the mandatory 14 day quarantine once they arrive in India.
