President Ibrahim Solih has created the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Maldives which is mandated to be established by the newly ratified Chartered Accountants Act.
The Act was ratified on 8th of this month.
The Institute is authorized to engage in legal proceedings to undertake its responsibilities as per the Act and would be established as an independent institution with an official seal.
The act includes and specifies the requirements of members, professional and ethics standards in addition to other factors related to the profession.
