The radiology department was opened by Minister of Health Mr Abdulla Ameen, during a ceremony held in Hulhumale’ Hospital.
In his address at the ceremony, Minister noted that Hulhumale’ is a city for which the hopes of a lot of Maldivians are tied to, and with an ever growing population, the development of services and facilities for Hulhumale’ Hospital should be of high priority.
With the opening of the new radiology department, the hospital reports that MRI scans will now be available to the public, and hopefully CT scans and mammography in the near future.
Hulhumale’ has population of 60,000, and with number steadily increasing the lack of services and facilities in the city’s major hospital is a common complaint among the local populace.
